Transbio
TRANSBIO is a unique two year international partnership initiative, which aims to promote the most innovative science & technology being undertaken in the biotechnology sector in both Europe and North America, with the financing of the European Commission.
TRANSBIO consists of six European partners (Austria, Catalonia, Flanders, Germany, Scotland and Sweden) and two North American partners (Massachusetts and Quebec).
The main objective of the project is to demonstrate how European companies and research institutes can successfully work and collaborate with their US and Canadian counterparts. An expected output from this initiative will be an increase in the number of technology transfer agreements and the further development between Europe and the world's most advanced and competitive markets for biotech products and services.
The project is focused on the Biotechnology market, as biotechnology is widely expected to form the next wave of the knowledge-based economy and become a key driver of growth in the world economy.
Over the two years of the program, European and North American biotechnology projects will be selected, refined and actively promoted in the North American market and Europe, respectively. For example, the most promising offers and requests of the European technology portfolio will be introduced in North American biotechnology market (and vice versa), providing a clear understanding of the legal, regulatory and cultural differences, and leading to successful transnational technology transfer collaborations.
